# Zrythm not restoring instrument plugin settings when opening project

When I open up a project, the settings of the instrument plugins I used aren’t being restored, even though they have been saved. I can restore them by loading the carla files from the plugin/states directory, but this not something I want to do for every instrument, every time I open a project.

FYI the instruments I’ve tested this with are both lv2’s, Yoshimi and ZynAddSubFX.

I also found that opening a project from path from the greeting window crashed the app, but opening a project when the main window is already open works fine.
