v1 is based on GTK which has poor support for Mac and Windows. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait for v2 if you want to use Zrythm on Mac. See Release Announcement: Zrythm v1.0.0 and Some updates on v1 release (and v2 development)
You can test early v2 builds in Zrythm v2 Builds Thread (since you already tried v1 it would be nice at least to get your feedback on v2 to see if it solves your lag, to see if we’re on the right direction).
