- GTK works best on Wayland and has various issues on X11 that won’t receive attention
- All audio plugins on GNU/Linux are written for X11 and some plugins crash when opened in a pure Wayland application
- Plugins crashing can be avoided by bridging (ran in another process)
- Bridging plugins avoids plugin-caused crashes but has a performance cost
What should Zrythm do?
(currently: X11 mode is forced and non-whitelisted plugins are bridged by default)
