Zrythm automatically choosing JACK (resetting preferences)

On my system for whatever reason JACK does not work. At this point I really don’t see the benefit myself as I just wanna make some electronic beats, nothing too fancy. Whenever I choose PulseAudio(rtaudio) (which does work well, whenever it decides to work), it prompts me to restart. When I restart, the audio device is JACK again, which fails to load as I don’t have uninstalled it due to it not working.

Here’s a video of it happening (no clue where to send these files, so landed on Drive :D)

I’ll probably try to get jack working as I wanna try to actually use this software instead of waiting three months for a bug fix. But it’s quite annoying. If there is any need for further elaboration or testing or something I’ll gladly help, I quite love where this project is going, and I can see myself using for my musical projects it as soon as it’s stable.

In this post: Pulseaudio doesn't work on Ubuntu 24.04? the writer briefly says that

… which is probably the same issue as I’m facing.

Quick extra info: it does work when I choose pulseaudio before I actually launch the Zrythm editor. It’s an annoying extra step though.

I’m having the same issue almost a year later! If this issue isn’t fixed, I won’t be able to use the DAW properly.

Do you have better luck with v2?

I have the same problem as yours. The program even causes my PC to hang and editing notes causes it to crash. I wonder if my issue is caused by using the LSP Sampler Plug-in, because if that’s the case, I might go out and look for a better sampler. Anyhow, I’m back to Ardour.

Upon further inspection, KSystemlog shows that the only crash that got reported was caused by a segmentation fault in the CPU.
